Crowflight Appoints Howard Stockford As Special Advisor, Exploration And Mining
|TORONTO, ONTARIO: CROWFLIGHT MINERALS INC. (TSX VENTURE:CML) has appointed Mr. Howard Stockford, P. Eng., as Special Advisor, Exploration and Mining. |
A graduate of the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London University, Mr. Howard Stockford brings over 43 years of exploration, operational and management experience to Crowflight. Mr. Stockford was most recently Executive Vice President of Aur Resources Inc.
Mr. Stockford's experience includes several years with Falconbridge Ltd., eventually becoming Chief Geologist for the company. During his time at Falconbridge, Mr. Stockford was responsible for the underground exploration for the Bucko Deposit in the Thompson Nickel Belt. He became Vice-President of Aur Resources Inc. in 1983. He has been a director of Aur since 1984 and held the position of Executive Vice-President from 1989 until he retired at the end of 2004. In 1989, Mr. Stockford was named a recipient of the Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year Award by the PDAC for his role in the discovery of the Louvicourt Copper-Zinc Deposit. He subsequently received the CIM Fellowship Award for outstanding contributions to the Canadian minerals industry and to CIM in 1999.
"Mr. Stockford's primary role as Special Advisor in Exploration and Mining will be to support the search for, and development of, resources and reserves in the Thompson Nickel Belt, Manitoba, where Crowflight has a 440 km2 land package under option from Falconbridge with advanced projects with resources and priority targets offering near term resource potential," states Mr. Stan Bharti, Crowflight's President and CEO. Mr. Bharti also adds "In addition, Howard's underground experience at the Bucko Deposit will be a significant asset to the Company as it moves beyond the feasibility stage towards potential development of the Bucko Mine."

Crowflight is a Canadian mining and exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange focused on Nickel, Copper and Platinum Group Minerals exploration in the Thompson Nickel Belt and Sudbury Basin. The company currently owns and/or has under option more than 672 km2 in Manitoba and Ontario. This includes the Bucko Deposit in Thompson, where the Company is conducting a feasibility study, and ten highly prospective properties in a partnership with Falconbridge - four around Bucko (Bowden Lake, Resting Lake, Halfway Lake and Gonlin Lake), and six located 100 kilometers to the north on the TNB Thompson North Project (Burntwood River, Birchtree South, Birchtree North, Airport, Moak Lake and Strong Lake).
The Company also has several advanced projects in Sudbury, which include the AER Kidd Project adjacent to Inco's Totten Deposit (10.1 million tonnes @ 1.5% Ni, 2% Cu, 4.8 g/t PGE's), Airport Property (a 50/50 joint venture with Millstream Mines Ltd.) located 4 km on-strike with Falconbridge's Nickel Rim South Deposit (13.2 million tonnes @ 3.5% Cu, 1.7% Ni, 0.8 g/t Au, 4.1 g/t PGE's), Mystery Offset Dyke Option and Peter's Roost.
